Alex Rosenbaum is a Brooklyn-based glass artist whose forms draw upon the fluid language of the Art Nouveau. Her sculptural flowers are amalgamations of botanical features, combined to create whimsical forms that won’t be found in any garden. Each piece is one of a kind and crafted by hand at her torch working bench.
Originally from the world of Fashion Design, Alex has worked as a dress designer at J.Crew and Urban Outfitters. She has since expanded her practice to explore the sculptural properties of glass lampworking and recently inherited her grandmother’s jeweler’s bench which has encouraged her to take on metal as a material. Alex aspires to explore the relationship between glass, metal, and textiles as she expands her knowledge at the Brooklyn Metalworks studio.
